Thom’s strategic approach and passion for growing organizations and driving results is evident throughout his career. At Zurich North America he was responsible for the Small Commercial Western and South Central Zones as well as Initiatives, and Technology Support Teams. Successfully, managing $432MM in premium. The Initiatives Team was responsible for incubating new products into the Zurich Builders Risk Model. The eZContractor Program, eZUmbrella, Mexico Tourist Auto, eZHealth, Specialty Auto and the Church program are just a few that were developed under his direction. Transitioning to RenRe after his tenure with Zurich Thom played a vital role as National Vice President in the start up of a retail division, RenRetail. The program was successfully launched and exceeded premium and capacity expectations for RenRe. Thom then purchased and helped launch a commercial insurance agency FCI Risk serving as COO and Principal. His accomplishments there included growing by 300% in each of the first 3 years. Insuring the world’s largest wound care provider, Healogics and serving as their Global Risk Manager. His work there included 3 successful purchase transactions working with Jeffries, CD & R and Goldman Sachs. Thom joined Vertus Insurance Partners in 2016. His experience growing and launching similar models with RenRe and Zurich have enabled him to help develop the current rating model. Aiding in the product and policy design and also the strategic implementation. Thom was responsible for Product, Strategy, Underwriting, Implementation and Marketing for the Vertus platform. He designed multiple product lines to diversify the portfolio.
