About Thomas Akrigg

Chartered engineer and Director at Mason Navarro Pledge. He leads teams working on projects ranging from deep retrofit, extensions and refurbishments of existing buildings, some of which are listed or of heritage importance, to large mixed-use regeneration schemes and new build developments with a focus on low carbon design. Tom enjoys working within a collaborative design environment, often sketching, to produce efficient and practical engineering solutions from concept design through to construction detail. He has extensive experience of complex inner city sites with multi-faceted constraints often engineering from first principles and encompassing technology advancements. Most of his experience is within the UK along with select projects in Europe, Middle East, New Zealand and USA where he has delivered numerous developments across the redisential/commercial, hotel/leisure and healthcare/education sectors. He has also developed a specialised knowledge in the design and delivery management of MMC and DfMA construction. He became a chartered civil engineer in 2016 and is currently leading the development of engineers through chartership with ICE.
