Background

About Thomas Brittain

I have held multiple roles in the Information Security sector over the last 16 years, both with the Military and in my civilian career. I began as a Systems Administrator managing Computer Networks for the Air National Guard and Air Force. I managed all devices from the External Router down to the endpoint with a strong emphasis on perimeter defense and endpoint security. I gained a wide range of knowledge in different Operating Systems (Linux, Windows, and UNIX) as well as different core systems in the environment ranging from routers and switches to Firewalls and Proxies. The biggest key to my initial education was in learning the theory of how each system operated in a computer network. This approach enabled me to manage virtually any device by just learning the nuances of how one vendor implemented the technology versus another. Rapid adaptability has become a cornerstone in my career. I have leveraged those skills throughout my career to continue to grow personally and professionally in the ever-evolving landscape of cyber security.
