About Thomas Brouder

After working on 24hr shift for 1 year as a Technical Operations Support for pioneering work in the area of small volume continuous production of pharmaceuticals at Eli Lilly Kinsale, I have now transitioned to a Senior Scientist role as part of a peptide NPI team. I will be working with all areas of production, engineering, automation, quality, analytical and modelling in the launch of Eli Lilly's new state of the art continuous technology manufacturing building in peptide production. I completed my PhD viva in the area of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in November 2020 in association with the School of Chemistry at the University College Cork under the supervision of Professor Anita Maguire. During the Covid-19 pandemic and while awaiting my PhD Viva I worked as the Materials Management TS/MS Rep in Eli Lilly Kinsale for 8 months. I graduated from University of Limerick in 2011 with first class honours and the gold medallion academic achievement award in BSc. Pharmaceutical and Industrial Chemistry. As a PhD student I have gained considerable synthetic organic chemistry skills working in an active research laboratory every day, as well as scientific writing skills from work on publishing my research in well established organic chemistry journals. I have been very fortunate to have worked with Eli Lilly Kinsale for approximately a full year over two academic placements, working in the Technical Services and Manufacturing Support group. Within this group, I worked with many experienced chemists and gained considerable knowledge regarding process chemistry, process development and new product introduction.
