About Thomas Brown

Nothing gets me more excited than seeing my concepts, sketches, and ideas become a reality. After years in technology development I still get an immeasurable thrill from seeing a robotic arm move, a valve switch, or my code compile without errors. Working at Europe's leading technology and product development company, my role involves hands-on development of novel technologies with a strong focus on concept generation, physical design and implementation, and testing. I take a proactive approach with my ideas and work hard to see the concept become a reality (or fail, and take the lessons on to the next one).As a classic T-shaped profile, I draw upon my wide breadth of technical background and combine mechanism design, electronics firmware and control, and data analytics to start with a problem, establish a concept, develop physical demonstrators, and enhance the design to a viable form factor product. This breadth of experience is something I pride myself on and continually work to expand as I find projects that draw upon small pieces of knowledge from a wide range of areas the most enjoyable. My work experience has been independently driven and involved leadership of team-based client-facing projects. Having cross-sectional experience in Industrial, Aerospace, Defence, Life Science, and Medical has opened my eyes to a vast landscape of fascinating technologies that can be applied across multiple domains. Working across these sectors has allowed me to collaborate closely with Engineers (Software, Mechanical, Electrical, RF, Microfluidics, Optics), Experimental Physicists, Biologists, Chemists, Audiologists, and a whole host of niche (and fascinating) specialities. As a perpetually curious person, I will always embrace new challenges, actively seek out new opportunities to learn, and take interest in the world around me. If you have an idea, a philosophy, or an adventure, I would love to hear about it.Contact details: thsb20@gmail.com
