My research interests lie in aquifer mechanics and land subsidence (field measurement techniques and modeling including InSAR and GPS), numerical modeling of ground-water flow, transport, and three-dimensional aquifer deformation; hydrology of fault systems, genesis of earth fissures in arid-zone basins, regional ground-water flow-system analysis and the relation of regional to local flow in complex fractured terranes, design and installation of subsidence monitoring equipment, aquifer-test design and analysis, fracture flow analysis and evaluation of fluid flow in karst ground-water settings using borehole logging and surface electrical resistivity. Analysis of fractured rock systems using Earth-tide and barometric loading analyses. Fracture characterization using stress-strain analysis techniques including surface deformation signals from tiltmeters. Aquifer mechanical and fluid flow response to CO2 sequestration. Time-series and principal component analysis for aquifer characterization.
