About Thomas Burdyny
As an Associate Professor in the Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (MECS) group at TU Delft, I lead the Burdyny Energy Lab, a multidisciplinary research team that investigates electrochemical conversion technologies for the energy transition. With over eight years of experience in this field, I have developed a strong expertise in CO2 electroreduction, syngas and ethylene production, and bridging the gap between lab and industry applications. My work has been recognized with the Best Lecturer of TU Delft 2021 and the Best Lecturer of Applied Sciences 2021 awards, as well as the HI Waterman Sustainability Award 2023. I am also involved in several secondary roles, such as the PI Council in the Applied Sciences faculty. I am passionate about developing technological solutions to global climate change and empowering the next generation of engineers and scientists. I welcome PhD and postdoc candidates who share this vision and have a keen interest in electrochemical applications.
