About Thomas Carriveau

As a small child, I was always busy taking things apart, figuring out how they worked, and then would put them back together. Sometimes I would even try changing things on the inside to see if I could improve their function. It was clear at a very young age that I was and still am a hands-on learner. When I was introduced to software development, my curiosity got the best of me, and I spent hours upon hours figuring out what it was and how to do it, which eventually lead to an abundance of research on what pursuing a career in software development might look like. Fast forward a few years and it’s safe to say this industry is exactly where I’m meant to be and that my career as a whole is definitely what I would consider my “dream job.” If you were to ask people that know me to describe me, they would tell you I am a self-starter, great team player, reliable, and consistently think outside the box to find solutions. In my world, no question or idea is a dumb one. Some of my greatest accomplishments in software development wouldn’t exist today had I hesitated to explore ideas that maybe seemed like they wouldn’t be a success at first thought. Every time I hear someone complain about their day to day tasks at their job, I can’t help but start brainstorming about what kind of software I could build to make their job easier, smoother, and more efficient. I’m always reading articles and researching programming languages… there’s constantly new things to discover and learn about in this technology-filled age. My passion for learning and continuously expanding my knowledge both in this industry and outside of it will never die. Not only can I develop software… I can fix anything from a car to a house and anything in between, and I will always use my resources and research until a solution is found. I’m a firm believer that if you have a passion for your job/career, you will never “work” a day in your life. You should try it sometime!
