In my many years of retail work, I have developed many skills that are prone to help run a successful business. · Process improvement Development and implementation of a new ordering system using Excel to improve efficiency and accuracy in stock control. · Customer service Meeting and adapting to continually changing customer needs is paramount to the success of high street businesses. Creation and implementation of a new customer service skills training session for new staff as part of their induction process. · Adapting to change. At the start of the pandemic when lockdowns were announced there was much uncertainty. We were faced with keeping ourselves and our customers safe whilst ensuring the business remained viable. We had to diversify to survive. I developed and implemented a successful home delivery service for customers which remains in place today. Knowledge and Skills · Budget and Financial Management Responsibility of budgets, maintaining financial records and overseeing pricing and stock control. · Health and Safety Responsible for keeping abreast of food safety regulations and the training of staff. This demonstrates my ability to research and apply relevant legislation. · People Management Three years’ experience in managing a local butcher shop with 4 full-time and 3 part-time employees. This includes developing staff rotas, managing employee relations issues, and ensuring high levels of customer care.
