About Thomas Combs

I worked for 5 years at a private golf course before joining the Army. I was a Golf Cart Attendant for 2 years, providing our members, and their guests, with the best customer care possible. After that I did lateral transfer to the Club's Golf Course Maintenance Department where I worked for the next 3 years. I started out as a Greens Keeper I operating small equipment such as weed eaters, smaller greens mowers, etc, and worked up to Greens Keeper II working with the larger equipment for cutting the fairways, tees, cutting the holes on the greens, etc. While in that position I was offered to be the Spray Technician's Assistant as well as the Irrigation Technician's Assistant. I joined the Army as a Healthcare Specialist in 2014. After completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma I attained my Emergency Medical Technician Basic during my Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in San Antonio, Texas. I was then stationed in Germany for 2 years as line medic for a platoon of 15-20 soldiers, as well as a clinic medic for 5 months at our local Medical Treatment Facility. After my Permanent Change of Duty Station to Fort Carson where I was made the Senior Line Medic for a company of 65-75 soldiers. I've provided emergency medical treatment and emergency medical evacuations in various situations. I've supervised numerous Combat Life Saver courses training soldiers in basic life support.
