About Thomas Crook

During my cadet ship i have been able to experience many different aspects involving maintaining and energy usage. In between leaving secondary school and starting my cadet training program I studied a Diploma in Engineering and Performing Engineering Operations at a level 2. In which i learned to use a welding machine safely and effectively; follow engineering drawings to fabricate parts from sheet metal; understand the health and safety requirements of working in industry and to work alone or part of a group. Recently I have become very interested in keeping up to date with the future of sustainable practices within the engineering environment. This being the increased use of renewable energies and the vast improvements this can have to the protection of the environment. Upon starting my role as a technician within the Energy and Utilities sector. I have found myself with complex tasks improving outdated and inefficient energy systems. A current accomplishment I feel proud of is learning to better understand a water recovery system helping to save/ reuse thousands of litres a week.
