About Thomas Didato

My name is Tom Didato, and this year I will celebrate my 13th year as a commercial loan officer at The Dime Bank in Honesdale, Pa. I enjoy the experience of working closely with my clients from beginning to end, watching them discover for the first time what an incredible resource a commercial banking expert can be. Even during our first visit together, I see light bulbs go on and the tension go out of their shoulders when they learn of financial options they didn't know about, or hadn't considered. I enjoy telling them that their loans have been approved, and then partnering with them over the long term to help them grow their businesses further. It's a privilege to give them advice that makes their businesses better and stronger. Examples of the types of projects I've helped my clients with include borrowing money, building a new facility, moving to a new location for greater space, financing equipment, or helping them get working capital to keep them going. I always start by finding out what the customer really wants to accomplish-what's important to them. I also like to know how hard they're willing to work to achieve their goals. That's important. Some customers are willing to do whatever it takes, which is a quality I admire. Being a good listener is always the key to a strong, long-lasting relationship. Owning a business isn't easy. Determined people often make sacrifices in their personal economic lives to keep things going. To get the complete story of their issues and challenges, I probe a little bit, and listen even harder.
