About Thomas Dougherty
Upon completion of my service in the US Air Force, I returned to Marquette University to complete the requirements for my degree as Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1975. During college I was in the Coop Engineering program and worked for RTE Corporation where I worked in their Test Lab. In 1075 I started as an Engineer for Wisconsin Electric and worked in Power Distribution until I left in 1980 to become a Sales Engineer for the Sangamo Weston Measurement and Control Division of Schlumberger. I became a Registered Professional Engineer in 1976. During downsizing in the oil field industry in 1985, Schlumberger laid of a large number of employees in all divisions of their company and I became unemployed. At the time, Engineering jobs were scarce so I became a Stockbroker at Merrill Lynch and then Liss Financial Services. In 2006 I took over a company that built motorized carts and incorporated the company as Carr Equipment Corporation. I plan to build this company into a leader in Ergonomically Designed material handling carts to he;p reduce the cumulative stress and strain injuries caused by repetitive motion tasks.
