About Thomas Eck

Dr Thomas Eck is an experienced manager in the fields of packaging solutions and recycling. Since October 2024, he has held the position of Chief Production, IT and Finance Officer at Altstoff Recycling Austria AG (ARA). In this role, he is largely responsible for driving technological innovations in the circular economy and further expanding ARA's market leadership. Between 2009 and 2018, Dr Eck was also a member of the Supervisory Board of ARA, where he contributed to the company's development. Before joining ARA, Dr Eck was Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at PreZero Polymers. There he managed the development and optimization of recycling plants in Germany, Austria, Italy and the USA. His professional career also spans over 25 years in various positions at Constantia Flexibles, a leading global manufacturer of flexible packaging, and 2.5 years at Krems Chemie, an Austrian company in the chemical industry. Dr Thomas Eck was born in Vienna, studied chemical engineering and business administration in Vienna, Linz and Krems and has extensive industry knowledge, particularly in the areas of packaging solutions and recycling. His in-depth technical expertise and many years of experience make him a key figure in the Austrian circular economy.
