About Thomas G. Oddo

I am a trial attorney with 30 years of experience and success. I concentrate my trial practice in the areas of construction law, business litigation, intellectual property disputes, catastrophic personal injuries, and wrongful death cases in federal and state courts. I have successfully litigated, tried, and appealed numerous complex and high stakes cases involving issues of construction and design defects, mechanics liens, debilitating personal injuries, accidents resulting in death, injunctions (emergency and permanent), corporate shareholder and limited liability company member disputes, and business torts throughout the United States. With three decades of litigation and trial experience in a variety of areas and industries, I have become outside general counsel for many of my business clients who contact me for legal advice that is designed to prevent litigation or, at a minimum, put them in a strong position in the event of litigation. In my role as outside general counsel, I have advised on issues relating to the buying and selling of my clients' businesses, as well as employment law matters, contract drafting and negotitation, and also insurance and indemnification issues. I am a member of the Federal Trial Bar and admitted to practice before all Illinois State Courts. I have successfully litigated and tried cases throughout Illinois, as well as Wisconsin, Indiana, Texas, California, Utah, and North Carolina. My approach to litigation as well as my outside general counsel work is to become a partner with my client for purposes of the case or transaction. I obtain an in-depth understanding of my client’s goals that allows me to streamline the process and narrow legal issues. With this approach, I am able to provide experienced legal advice upon which my client can make fully-informed business decisions.
