About Thomas Gleisner

I’m an experienced and results-driven Mining Civil Engineer with over 15 years in the mining industry. In my last role as Operational Excellence Superintendent at Antucoya, I focused on making mining operations more efficient and effective. My expertise spans mine operations, planning, and driving operational excellence. I’m fluent in Spanish and proficient in English and German. One of my proudest achievements is maintaining a record with no major injuries, which shows my commitment to safety. I also developed a new mine design at Dawson that significantly improved its value over its lifespan. Additionally, while overseeing operations at a medium-sized mine, I delivered a plan that saved around and influenced the company's decision not to divest the asset. Furthermore, I led a trial with four autonomous trucks, pushing technological boundaries and improving operations. In my last role, I exceeded the 2023 annual commitments by effectively managing innovation and data analytics projects, capturing more value than initially projected. I achieved key milestones in the engineering process for two significant technology projects: autonomous trucks and the Integrated Operations Center (IROC). Additionally, from the second half of 2023 until now, I contributed to the design of a lean system for the company and led its implementation at the site, driving further operational improvements. Before this, as Manager Technology at Finning, a Caterpillar dealer, I managed a diverse team and complex stakeholder relationships. I achieved a 400% increase in sales over two years and won major tenders, including one with BHP. I successfully implemented complex projects such as a pilot for four autonomous trucks and migrated a fleet management system at CMP from a competitor to Caterpillar's MineStar system. I’m passionate about cutting-edge technologies, safety, and continuous improvement. I have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and I’m proficient in Minesite and Microsoft applications. I hold a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from the University of Chile and have extensive training in management.
