About Thomas Grogan

Tom has recently retired! He remains a registered professional engineer with over 39 years experience in structural design and leadership skills. He has a wide range of experience, including several projects overseas in Russia and Korea. He has demonstrated an ability to provide accurate, creative and timely designs of structural systems. Tom's input is often called upon to consult on his employer's most challenging structural design projects. His design experience includes knowledge of all structural framing systems using: structural steel, concrete, and masonry. In addition, he has used the following foundation systems: conventional spread footings, driven and auger cast piles, drilled shafts, stone columns, and vibro replacement. Tom has very strong lateral load design skills with projects along the Florida's hurricane coastline (150 MPH) and in California's and South Carolina's very high seismic regions. Tom has also served in the role of A/E project design leader where he served as project manager on several complicated design projects. These responsibilities included client satisfaction, quality, project planning, execution and completion, staffing, quality, and overall profitability. Additional duties Tom has assumed during his career include responsibility for office and multi-office project scheduling and staffing.
