I am an accounting expert with more than 16 years of progressive accounting experience. My knowledge base includes full cycle accounting processes; strategic planning and budgeting; cash management; system integration; leading, coaching, and developing accounting teams; financial analysis; forecasting; GAAP; fixed assets; AP; AR; coordination of external audit needs; and assistance with internal audits including SOX controls. I leverage my understanding of financial data to reduce costs, increase revenue, and drive organizational effectiveness and excellence. For instance, I implemented ACH payments to accelerate cash collections at two different senior living communities, and worked with my team to decrease overall AR aging at one community in less than a year. My thoughtful decision-making and the ability to break down silos help promote teamwork and collaboration across departments. One way I accomplished this was by developing and presenting training to department leaders on how to read financial statements and write variance explanations, including defining and explaining what qualified as a capital expense.
