About Thomas Harmer

Thomas Harmer started in the mortgage business back in 1994 working for KipJohn Lending in Bellevue, WA. I later opened his own brokerage with Aatrix Mortgage LLC (now Aatrix LLC). He retired in 2007 with his Real Estate investments but due to the crash in 2008 he lost most of his Real Estate and tapped into his CPA background to get employed as an accounting professor at several colleges. Low pay at colleges have motivated him to get back into the mortgage business. His former employee/loan originator, Dave Chapman invited him to join him and get back into the business. Harmer knows financing for new construction, remodels and rental properties from personal experience. He built his first rental property while majoring in accounting at Western Washington State College (Now WWU). After graduation he passed the CPA exam and worked for Moss Adams CPA's for a few years but left to pursue entrepreneurial ventures in construction and Real Estate. He retired in 2007 with a nice portfolio of rental properties he lost during the crash of 2008. As part of his recovery from that crash with is former CPA experience he was hired as an accounting professor. Professor Harmer has taught numerous different accounting classes face-to-face over the years but progressed into specializing in on-line education. He has taught at Edmonds Community College and Bellevue College utilizing numerous different publishers and online homework managers. He designed a new entrepreneurial business course (BUS129) which incorporates the 30 day free trial of QuickBooks. Professor Harmer utilizes his past experience in photography and movie production to produce popular educational videos he imbeds in his course content.(Founder of "Cinema Film Productions" and producer of "Skiing the 80's" for the Mount Baker ski area. Also founder of "Ski World Photography" in Sun Valley, Idaho). Professor Harmer is now a fully on-line adjunct (part time) accounting instructor with Seattle Central College. and is returning to the mortgage business to offset the low pay received as an educator. His experience as a former Real Estate developer, builder and landlord allow him to provide the best service assisting clients in making their mortgage financing decision!
