About Thomas Herrmann

THOMAS HERRMANN was born in Karlsruhe in 1973. He studied at the University of Paderborn by Marton Keönch, at the Academy of Art in Darmstadt by Prof. Grigory Gruzman, at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold by Prof. Anatol Ugorsky and at the Conservatory of Amsterdam by Prof. Naum Grubert, where he got his solo-degree with magna cum laude. Recitals and chamber music concerts have taken Thomas Herrmann to many countries throughout Europe, China, Morocco and to South Africa. He also performed at numerous festivals; e.g. at the „Gergiev Festival“, at the „Chopinfestival“ in Bergen at the „Russian Chambermusicfestival“ in Gent. Thomas Herrmann plays regularly as a soloist with various orchestras in Germany, made TV-recordings for the German ZDF, the National Chinese TV and played for recordings of the Netherlands Broadcasting Co. in the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam. In & 2001Thomas Herrmann gave masterclasses and concerts at the Conservatory of Potchefstroom in South Africa. Since the year 2003 he also gives each year masterclasses for chamber music at the Summer academy of Friedrichsdorf. Since the year 2010 Thomas Herrmann has his own piano-course in AROSA (Zwitserland). From 2014 - 2018 he was Head Music, Dance and Theater and member of the management team of the Music- and Danceschool in Amstelveen. Since 2018 he is lecturer for piano at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and since 2023 also Chairman of the exams of the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. From 2006 - 2017 Thomas Herrmann was artistic director of the International Chamber Music Festival of the Haarlemmermeer.
