About Thomas Hesson

As a valued member of the biochemistry/protein chemistry section in discovery research of a major pharmaceutical company, I have had extensive experience designing, expressing, purifying and analyzing recombinant proteins: for use as therapeutic biologics and as targets for drug development. I have also had experience in biologics process, and assay development. Because of a change of control and site closure I am curently working as a contract scientist. I am open to new positions in protein chemistry or in vitro sciences, where I can continue to contribute to the development of new therapies for human disease. Specialties: • Have purified and evaluated recombinant therapeutic proteins. • Have extensive experience in all methods of protein purification, enzymology, and site specific mutagenesis. • Have experience in mammalian and insect cell tissue culture techniques. • Have extensive experience in analytical techniques including: radiometric assays and RIA; fluorescence spectroscopy and anisotropy; and pre-equilibrium techniques including both stopped flow spectrometry and surface plasmon resonance.
