About Thomas Jay Skinner

I worked for 16 years in a medium-sized law firm in Birmingham, Alabama, practicing real estate law, insurance defense, workers compensation and general civil litigation. On June 1, 2008, I opened my own law practice where we practice in the areas of real estate law, title insurance law, general civil litigation, probate, estates and trusts, and business and corporate law. I am also a Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard where I serve as the Staff Judge Advocate, 167th Theater Sustainment Command. In my previous assignments, I served as the Command Judge Advocate for the 31st CBRN Brigade, the Chief of Military Justice and Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the 167th Theater Sustainment Command, Command Judge Advocate for the 142nd Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, the Deputy Command Judge Advocate for the 135th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) where I deployed to Kuwait and Qatar, and I served as the Senior Defense Counsel for Alabama and the Deputy Regional Defense Counsel for the Army National Guard Trial Defense Services Southeast Region.
