About Thomas Karaba

I began my solo law practice on September 1, 2016 under the moniker Karaba Law. I began my legal career in 1980 with Crowley Barrett & Karaba, which closed its doors in August 2016 almost 90 years after its founding. As a legal generalist, I have broad-based experience in a wide range of practice areas, but continue to concentrate my practice in the areas of banking, corporate and commercial law, employment, publishing, real estate transactions, and estate planning. I represent a variety of financial institutions in Illinois, as well as a diverse group of medium-sized industrial and service companies, many of which are multi-generational, family owned businesses. I continue to serve as Illinois counsel to Finastra, the provider of the LaserPro® loan documentation software system throughout the U.S. and to over 300 financial institutions in Illinois. My individual clients, many of whom are professionals and entrepreneurs, seek my counsel on a wide variety of matters, including estate and finacial planning, real estate matters, business formations, and employment issues.
