I'm Thomas, a trans-disciplinary experience designer and builder with over 30 years of professional practice. My work centers on user experience, driving thoughtful programming through deep context sensitivity. I craft compelling narratives for stakeholders and ensure their clarity throughout each project, combining design thinking with practical knowledge across diverse roles including designer, engineer, strategist, and developer.My career includes managing multimillion-dollar architectural projects, creating mixed reality experiences, developing enterprise software products, launching an educational technology startup, and leading digital transformation for a global architecture, engineering, and construction group. I have a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master’s in Game Programming, which fuel my expertise in blending physical and digital realities. I'm proficient in multiple programming languages, digital fabrication technologies, and I have extensive experience in education, having taught students from kindergarten through PhD levels.Currently, I am leading a skunk-works team of software engineers, data scientists, UX/UI designers and technologists, towards the development of new products within a program of client facing 3d applications. While our growth efforts explore AI + XR capabilities, the core of our specialized expertise is in the intersection of traditional GIS and the building information models (BIM) of the architecture discipline. We have developed multiple complex enterprise web applications on top of Mapbox technologies, with the last couple years utilizing the DeckGL technologies developed by Uber. Our applications facilitate the democratization of spatial data with our teams and clients. My deep engagement with machine learning and artificial intelligence dates back over 15 years, well before they became mainstream. From early academic projects leveraging natural language processing, computer vision, and urban data prediction, to developing generative AI solutions that advance high-performance architecture today, I am uniquely positioned to navigate and shape this rapidly evolving technological landscape.
