About Thomas Kroeker
I have just graduated with my degree in geography and economics from the University of British Columbia, and I will be attending the Allard School of Law at UBC this coming September in pursuit of a JD. I am currently intrigued by the economic geography of housing, urban planning, and the changing role of urban governance, and wish to apply my education, and experience as a housing researcher, towards advancing the public interest and knowledge in these realms. My specific research interests include: the process of financialization and its interaction with civic government; the spatiality of remote work and planetary urbanization; modern iterations of the Staples Thesis in Canada; the land economics of zoning deregulation; and hyperlocal neighbourhood governance structures. I am also broadly interested in the fields of employment law and property law.
