Seven years ago, I made the move from Calgary to Vancouver with the ambition of pursuing a career in the Sports Tourism industry. After dedicating myself to two jobs, working seven days a week at Mountain Equipment Coop and the Richmond Olympic Oval, I eventually achieved my goal of becoming a Sport Climbing Programmer. This position opened up countless opportunities to contribute to the advancement of sport climbing. Amidst many worldwide challenges, my team and I collaborated with Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) to renovate the Richmond Olympic Oval climbing wall. The project proved to be an invaluable learning experience for everyone involved. Subsequently, we experienced remarkable success, witnessing a tenfold increase in membership, surpassing our expectations with the number of youth athletes in our programs, and hosting annual climbing events at local and international levels. Thanks to a supportive management team and dedicated staff, each day presents valuable lessons that continually enhance our management skills. My master's degree and experience in sports tourism have equipped me with strong technical and communication skills, well-suited for a customer service and project management role. Having worked in five countries, I have honed my ability to engage with customers and team members from diverse cultural backgrounds. My focus remains on being an attentive listener and assisting my team in their professional endeavors when exceeding the financial goal of the company. I firmly believe in the power of collectivism over individualism, striving to put this belief into practice. Having been born and raised in France, I relocated to Canada a decade ago, driven by a desire for new experiences beyond my comfort zone. Aiming to explore a foreign land while contributing to a charitable cause, I embarked on an km cycling journey across Canada, from Victoria, B.C, to St. John's, NL, raising funds for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. This endeavor allowed me to connect with friendly people and outdoor enthusiasts throughout Canada, immersing myself in its diverse culture. Outside of work, I am passionate about engaging in outdoor and fitness activities such as running, mountain biking, and climbing. As a recent parent, my wife and I eagerly anticipate embarking on family adventures with our child and making cherished memories together.
