About Thomas Lord

I am a Chartered Town Planner with a focus on enabling the transition to a net zero future through strategic planning and infrastructure delivery. With deep expertise in renewable energy, low-carbon technologies, and industrial decarbonisation, I advise developers and landowners on how to navigate complex planning systems and deliver sustainable outcomes. My work spans the full development lifecycle — from early-stage site promotion and planning strategy through to application management, stakeholder engagement and the appeal process, as well as post consent condition discharge and scheme amendments. I have particular experience in major energy infrastructure projects, including onshore wind, battery storage, hydrogen, energy from waste and heat networks, as well as the planning aspects of decarbonising industrial clusters and developments through carbon capture, utilisation and storage. I bring together technical understanding of climate policy, spatial planning and infrastructure development to create solutions that are both deliverable and aligned with the UK’s net zero targets.
