About Thomas Maddox

I'm excited to be joining the Vanguard community for my first position as a Software Engineer! I just graduated with honors from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) with a degree in Computer Science, where I also gained some amazing leadership and administrative experience as the President of our college Catholic ministry, Catholic Retrievers. After we returned to campus for the 2021-2022 academic year, I led our ministry through two consecutive years of massive growth, more than doubling our attendance year over year! Throughout Summer 2022 I also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at CollabraSpace, where I grew tremendously as an engineer while learning about the ins and outs of the defense contracting industry. I believe my greatest strength as a professional comes from being a well-rounded individual. In addition to my problem-solving skills and experience with learning and using varied tech stacks, I'm also a very outgoing and sociable person with excellent communication skills, and a strong proponent of personal discipline and responsibility. This combination of traits is the reason I've been so successful in different areas throughout my life, and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow!
