Thank you for taking the time to read my summary. What you should know about me as your lawyer is that I believe practicing law in a small law firm is one of the greatest privileges my profession affords. I focus on what matters most to me - client's needs, increasing my knowledge and expertise, minimizing overhead so we can be strong and nimble as a law firm, and being a husband, father, and bicyclist. I have noticed a reluctance among some lawyers to be both attorneys and counsellors. They inform the client of what the law is, but then they won't give the client an opinion of what the lawyer thinks the client should do. Clearly, it is always the client who decides, but I believe a lawyer gives value when he or she provides the client the benefit of that lawyer's experience. Maybe there is a fear of being wrong or of being held accountable for giving bad or incorrect advice. I believe if the client is paying for advice and I give it, then I need to stand by what I said, and I will. I regret the reputation lawyers have in our society. I am working hard to ensure that you find that I and the lawyers at our firm are a refreshing departure from that. I have been fortunate to represent great clients over the past 26 years. Some matters have been a sheer pleasure. Others have been grueling. Some, candidly, have been gut-wrenching. All have been a privilege.
