With over two decades of experience in environmental and waste management, I have dedicated my career to supporting programs aimed at improving community cleanliness and sustainability. I started my career with the City of Long Beach's Environmental Services Bureau, where I eventually played a pivotal role in managing refuse and recycling accounts, overseeing private hauler agreements, and coordinating trash collection and sweeping operations spanning miles annually. In my most recent roles as Operations Manager at Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) and CDL Driver at Republic Services, I've continued to uphold my commitment to excellence in waste management. At SCA, I optimized resource utilization and coordinated diverse service activities to ensure customer satisfaction and financial goals were met. While at Republic Services, I operated heavy equipment for refuse collection, prioritizing safety and efficiency in all operations. Throughout my career, I've cultivated strong leadership skills, notably as the Clean Team and Refuse Supervisor with the City of Long Beach. In this role, I recruited, trained, and supported teams of 10–25 employees and contractors, ensuring they delivered quality service while maintaining safety standards. I also drove process improvements and fostered cross-functional teamwork to enhance operational efficiency and customer service levels. Beyond managing day-to-day operations, I have been deeply involved in public education and community engagement initiatives. By providing support to customers, neighborhood groups, and community organizations, I've helped advance positive public relations and promote environmental awareness. Starting as a refuse operator, parking control checker, and motor sweep operator with the City of Long Beach, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of waste management and community relations.
