I serve as the Vice President of Public Relations at Money Management International (MMI), where I lead strategic communications initiatives aimed at empowering individuals and families to achieve financial wellness. With over a decade of experience at MMI, I have been instrumental in shaping MMI's public voice, managing media relations, developing engagement strategies, and promoting the organization’s mission on a national scale.I have grown MMI’s reach by mobilizing our clients as advocates and maturing our data-sharing practice. This has included leading initiatives like the MMI Peer Advocate Program, MMI Consumer Distress Dashboard, MMI FLEC Awards, and Long Story $hort podcast. My work has been recognized in the PRNEWS Digital Awards, Anthem Awards, w3 Awards, and PR Daily’s Nonprofit Communication Awards.My connection to MMI is deeply personal, as I initially sought the agency’s services as a client. I joined Clearpoint, which later merged with MMI, during the Great Recession as a financial counselor. Drawing on my previous career in retail financial services and collections, I supported thousands of individuals navigating economic crises, including mortgage challenges and debt repayment. My ability to communicate complex financial topics in an accessible and empathetic way quickly established me as a spokesperson, a role I continue to enjoy.As a trusted financial authority, I have been featured in top-tier outlets like The New York Times, Forbes, TIME, CNBC, and others. I am a contributing member of Bankrate's Financial Expert Review Board and previously provided expertise to NerdWallet and MSN Money. My thought leadership spans topics like debt management, credit building, and financial wellness, reflecting my commitment to reducing social stigma around financial challenges.Beyond my media work, I am dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives within MMI, where I champion LGBTQIA+ representation and previously served on the MMI President’s Council. My community involvement extends to serving on nonprofit boards and advocacy groups.I attended Southwestern Illinois College and Maryville University of St. Louis, and hold a Certificate in Neighborhood Leadership from the University of Missouri. A lifelong learner and passionate advocate, I continue to use my platform to educate and inspire others to take control of their financial futures.
