Over 35 years of law enforcement experience. I am currently the chief of police for the city of Port Townsend. Prior to arriving in Port Townsend I was a deputy chief for the triple accredited (CALEA, IACLEA, WASPC) University of Washington Police Department. Prior to that, I had over 25 years of service with the Washington State Patrol, also a CALEA accredited organization. Over 13 years of my service was spent as a supervisor and leader. Certified as a law enforcement supervisor and mid-manager from the Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) and graduate of the FBI National Academy (class #277). Strategic and visionary leader able to apply the necessary tactical skills to develop efficient, effective programs and processes, to increase productivity and performance. Approachable and respected leader who inspires others by taking a hands-on approach. Able to pursue and get results by reviewing the big-picture while not missing the necessary details. Able to formulate and clearly communicate issues and updates through effective conversations and formal presentations.
