About Thomas P. Howe

I have steadily been procuring a body of experience in a spectrum of educational settings. By engaging students in and outside of the classroom, I have become multi-dimensional in my approach to teaching. My goal is to become an urban educator who is reflective, innovative, and committed to diversity. I have been securing my future as an effective educator through deep reflection and critique of my practice. I recognize that education in this country has always been a contested segment of society. Who has access to resources and who does not are often the great dividers of who will succeed in school. Our educational system does not provide equal access to quality education for all students. It is for this reason I am deeply committed to equality and equity in society and education. This is at the core of my philosophy for becoming an educator.
