About Thomas Paletta

First and foremost I'm a Marine Corps veteran and proud of it. I use the lessons the military taught me in my everyday life in order to better myself as a person and to be as professional as possible regardless of my current occupation or chosen career path. I have a set of beliefs when it comes to work: 1) Separate your personal life from your professional one. 2) The job isn't done until it's done. 3) Be attentive and treat people with equality, respect and patience. 4) Integrity must be maintained at all times, own up to your mistakes and learn from them. I've always loved working with my hands and being involved with people on projects, there's always something to learn and something to teach. I became a mechanic in the Marines where I learned diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems along with some electrical work. It's the same reason I went on later to get a degree in network engineering and learn more about computers beyond just building them for fun. I've always wanted a career that could combine my many skills I've learned over the years into a single occupation. Machines and technology run our modern world which has always fascinated me, the fact the human mind can imagine such things and bring them into being is a marvel. I currently work in the firearms industry at a small business gun shop with a great, although temperamental bunch of guys but we enjoy what we do and have a great enthusiasm for our trade. Since I've been working here I've discovered I have a natural affinity for sales and conversing with people to get said sale by using the same set of beliefs and work ethic I mentioned above. Working on firearms also appeals to my mechanical interests and taking them apart, repairing and replacing parts has a lot of appeal to me which is why pursue it in my personal time, especially on my older antiques. Whatever it is I do whether it be mechanics, computer networking or cleaning the rust off that old piece of history I will always give it 110% and keep whacking away it until the job is done morning, noon or night!
