About Thomas Pekin
I am a team product owner of the high performance computing team at Zeiss Semiconductor Mask Solutions (SMS). In my role, I enable an interdisciplinary team of ~14 physicists and software engineers to develop high performance computing solutions for integration into products developed by SMS. Prior to my start at Zeiss SMS, I was a postdoctoral research at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and before that I was a graduate student in Materials Science and Engineering at UC Berkeley. In both locations I worked on developing cutting edge electron microscopy techniques to discover structure property relationships in novel materials. The techniques included in situ 4DSTEM strain mapping and ptychography. Simultaneously I mentored students and taught several classes. I have a deep interest in leadership, materials science,(electron) microscopy, the semiconductor industry, and scientific computing, and luckily I get to combine all of these interests at ZEISS!
