For me the critical questions in developing sales skills boil down to three: 1. Can we deepen seller thinking to contextualise their solutions better? This means resonating with customers' business landscapes, pressures, and overarching strategies. How do we empower teams with the right support to elevate every sales conversation? Each interaction should carry weight and lead to progressing the deal. How do we cultivate lasting self-development habits, mindsets, and philosophies? This goes beyond quick, event based, fixes and into building long-term sales excellence initiatives. 36 years in complex corporate sales and sales coaching, and 13 years as a successful sales strategy advisor and facilitator, I've helped sales leaders, individuals, teams, and business leaders globally unlock their full potential. My experience has taught me one clear truth: deeper thinking about customer context requires a strong foundation. This includes the right mindset, structure, powerful questions, effective tools, and most importantly, good and consistent coaching questions and strategies that resonate with sellers and drive lasting results.
