About Thomas Ripley

Having been graduated and working in industry for over three years, I have seen, understood, and overcome many real world design hurdles and seen how much care must be taken with intricate and complex design solutions. At this point in my career I have been able to apply many concepts from my education and continue to learn new ones and their applications everyday. I have been fortunate to have been given many lead roles in the development of many state of the art lab instruments so early in my career. These roles include- Leading a team of engineers, software developers, and scientists on groundbreaking scientific discovery projects- Advanced problem solving and data analysis to gain a deep understanding of a system's behavior- Design, implementation, and integration of electronics from both firmware, and hardware perspectives. I have also been fortunate to have had the opportunity in my education to fully design and implement a large scale digital system to process high speed data using an FPGA. Even outside of the office, being a musician allows me to combine my passion for electronics with my passion for music, whether it be designing and building an amplifier, or designing guitar effect pedals. This also allows me to incorporate the perfect amount of creativity into any kind of design.
