About Thomas Rowson

I am currently undertaking a PhD in History, aiming for completion in 2025. My research focuses on the environmental impacts of NASA's Apollo/Saturn. This work builds upon my undergraduate degree in 20th Century History and my lifelong interest in the Apollo program, and makes a new contribution to existing literature. Alongside my studies, I lecture for Anglia Ruskin University, with marking requirements to accompany this. I am the first port of call for students with queries or concerns, and offer support to help ensure their successful completion of their courses. This teaching covers Marketing, making use of my masters degree and my experience working in the digital marketing sector. I have delivered multiple thought leadership talks and guest lectures in the marketing sector, including a TEDx talk on whether search engines have an inherent political bias in their results. I am also proud to be the Advisor to the Judging Coordinator for the Student Radio Association, supporting the team look after the competition element for both of their headline awards events, drawing on my many years of experience in both radio and event management. Before this, I spent five years as the Judging Coordinator myself, for which I have been bestowed with an honorary lifetime membership by the Student Radio Association. My career has been varied and I have held numerous roles over the years, all of which have formed part of the journey to deliver me where I am now. I am enthusiastic, dedicated, and reliable, as well as committed to success. I possess positive leadership qualities and strive to create an atmosphere of psychological safety in any environment. I am a natural communicator with both the written and spoken word, and enjoy public speaking. Outside of work and study, I have a strong interest in and deep working knowledge of motorsport, enjoy reading and writing.
