About Thomas Schumake

Professionally, I am a passionate producer of music as well as commercial advertising spots, public service announcements, promotions and radio features. I love to create and build a unique product where my love of my work can shine through! I am highly interested in combining my love of geography- cultural, urban and physical, with my media background. I would like to devise a documentary series that would focus on the global urban setting and how global culture influences a city's structural, cultural, and political milieus. RESEARCH INTERESTS It is my goal to meticulously study and document the geographic structure of rapidly declining and developing American urban centers, particularly immigrant and minority neighborhoods and districts that are facing gentrification or fallen into significant urban decay. Ideally, this documentation will be of a cinematic, photographic, and written nature, as my undergraduate training is extensive in all three areas.
