About Thomas Sherborne

I started off my working life as a teacher. But decided after a year it wasn't for me, so i got a job in insurance instead. 6 years later and I am still here. My main area of specialisms include: Property Insurance, marine insurance and catastrophe modelling. I have also participated in a number of projects including- Delivering a new IT system for utilisation by brokers to purchase marine freight liability policies- Integrating catastrophe modelling (RMS) within the corporate property team- Delivering a new survey system and ensuring that all lines of business within corporate risks can utilise it effectively- Drafted and critiqued the new multinational policy wording now used by Aviva corporate risksI have also been given a handful of positions of responsibility within Aviva. These include- Chief referral point for IPT change queries. I also worked in the project that looked to deliver the change within the business. This gave me a good understanding of the different types of issues faced by different classes of business- Aviva representative to the Eurapco panel of European Insurers. I have had to go to meetings in Europe to meet the panel, and also act as a contact point for various European contacts throughout Europe.
