About Thomas Solich
I first fell in love with the piano in grade school. During college, I realized the piano was more than just a performance instrument for me but also my connection to the world of business, people, technology, and finance. I founded Solich Piano in 2005 during my junior year at Baldwin Wallace University. During my initial years in the Piano retail industry, numerous skeptics predicted that a blind concert pianist turned Piano retailer and business owner couldn’t make it. Twenty years later in 2025, Solich Piano has been named Yamaha‘s National Dealer of the Year, Piano Channel. On consumer and institutional levels, we are the largest piano retailer in the Midwest with Yamaha piano dealerships in Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Ann Arbor and Pittsburgh. I also operate other Piano stores under different names that will soon become part of the Solich Piano brand portfolio. A favorite part of my job is being an advocate and philanthropist, helping nonprofits to creatively fundraise for long-term multiple piano acquisitions.
