About Thomas Sprenger

As press officer and strategic communications advisor at acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering – I translate complex future technologies into stories that inspire and are easy to understand. What drives me? I believe that technological progress only benefits society when people understand, discuss, and help shape it. I translate technical jargon into clear English, facilitate conversations between experts and the public, and ensure innovations reach those who need them. With over twenty years of experience in technology communication — from cloud computing and data rooms to artificial intelligence — I am familiar with the challenge of explaining the invisible. How do you make the abstract tangible? And how do you build trust in technologies that are fundamentally changing our lives? At acatech, I work at the intersection of science, politics, and society. I ensure that technical and scientific expertise is incorporated into the right debates — clearly, thoroughly, and with an eye to what technology means for our coexistence. Whether in articles, on panels, or on social media, I seek out the stories behind technology. I look for the human moments in a digital world. I also look for answers to the question of how we can shape progress so that it benefits everyone.
