10+ years’ enterprise system experience acting as the principal architect of a Real-Time Energy Management System for 4 second control of 330+ Wind, Fossil, Nuclear and Solar assets (3.4b revenue per year). Designed and built Trade Floor applications for Managers and Real Time Operations to monitor, analyze and override and monitor control signals from EMS, Oracle and Aviva OSI Pi data. Integrated ERCOT Real-Time assets into AspenTech OSI Monarch SCADA system for Real-Time Desk MMI control. Designed custom AGC modules (e.g. Seneca mountain, NY-ISO) and plant control modules for the core Energy Management system to control PLC, RTAC and unique contract deliverables for Energy Management Services. Designed and implemented High Availability for Real-time applications reducing fail over time from 4 hours to less than 4 minutes. Designed zero footprint driver to connect to generation assets (DNP3 \ Modbus over web services). Saving 4m per year in application costs and reducing recovery time from months to minutes. Implemented Real-time historical capture of all ICCP Transmission using AVEVA PI, and Oracle. Also developed custom high-speed drivers for (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, OGCC, PGE, SPP and other) for audits and other RFI events. Scaled the Energy Management system for 20% YOY to accommodate growth metrics. Designed custom web service interfaces for partners and off takers such as AWS, Virtual Power Plants and other systems as needed. Designed and built custom EMS interfaces including PLC, RTAC and other disparate devices Used many languages e.g. perl, python, java, shell, mono.Net etc. to integrate and export data from databases to custom EMS and OSI systems. Designed Microsoft.NET/Azure Windows Visual interfaces to seamlessly integrate, Power 9 AIX and LINUX systems. Monitoring the back-end to help deliver up-time for all core EMS systems.
