About Thomas Straumits

Life and work in 7 countries have provided me with a unique global perspective of inclusive leadership in multicultural and diverse environments. I am passionate about people and what every individual is capable of doing if they are given the right platform to explore and grow. I am a father of two wonderful strong minded daughters, proud husband of an opera singer and emotionally attached to our wire fox terrier. I am curious and like to be at the forefront to innovate and always ready to take the flag if needed to create the path for others to follow. I connect the dots, drive alignment and accept full accountability. I have been given the trust to be elected as Chairman for five different boards across sectors and trade associations. As the first ever non-Hungarian, for AIPM (Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturers) I represented 26 research-based multinational companies in development and execution of business, market access and other industry policy strategies. Since July 2020, I humbly serve the vibrant Swedish business community as Chairman for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary. For almost 30 years, I have done my best to support the health of populations across the world with a strong commitment to Health Literacy and how to bridge the gaps. I do not intend to stop. Oh yes, I should probably mention that I am an experienced Managing Director with almost 3 decades in the pharmaceutical industry across a wide range of roles in country, regional and global teams. Most recently, I was fortunate to lead the global market separation work in the major transaction of spinning of Organon from MSD.
