QUALIFICATIONS: I have over 25 years of Composites Manufacturing and Process Engineer experience working in the aerospace composites industry in support of military and commercial aircraft and spacecraft programs for Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, Pratt and Whitney Canada, and Northrup Grumman. My knowledge and experience in aerospace composites are in the following, but not limited to, areas: • Lamination: Hand Layup (Wet and pre-impregnated), Vacuum bagging, Automated Tape Layup (ATL), Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) and Filament Winding, Ovens and Autoclaves. • Automated Tape Layup (ATL), Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), hot drape forming of prepregs and filament winding. • Bonding: Composite to composite and composite to metals and sandwich constructions with honeycombs using epoxy films and paste adhesives. • Finishes: Application of epoxy and waterborne primers, topcoats, high temperature coatings and surfacers, chem films and anodization to components and assemblies. • Materials: Fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar, polyurethanes, polyvinylchlorides, epoxies, bismaleimides (BMI), cork ablatives, ceramics, aramid and metallic honeycombs and Rohacell foam materials. • Assembly: Fabrication of large aircraft and spacecraft structural assemblies. • Tooling: Design and fabrication of metallic and composite layup tools and drill/assembly fixtures.* Design, develop and write the bills of materials (BOM), processes and procedures for the manufacturing of composite structural components and assemblies for military and commercial aircraft programs to customer specifications, drawings, models and designs. Design and develop all the necessary tools, molds and fixtures to manufacture the components and assemblies if not customer supplied. Design, develop and write the inspection processes and procedures for components and assemblies. As an active MRB member, determine root causes Disposition non-conformances for rework or repair per specifications, drawings and models.
