Over the last 16 years, I have been a leader throughout Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. During this time, I have had many amazing opportunities and challenging roles that have given me the skills to succeed today. Park and resort operations, operations training, transportation, and facility operations are all areas I have been fortunate to learn and grow as a professional My last role with Disney Parks, Experiences, & Products was with the Environmental Sustainability Line of Business. This role really drove my passion for the sustainability industry and all of the amazing initiatives Disney and other companies are pursuing. I was an environmental consultant to all operations within Walt Disney World striving for locations to reach their full potential of energy reduction, water conservation, & waste diversion. This role involved long term projects while engaging with all levels of personnel throughout WDW from our frontline employees all the way to our executives. One of the main initiatives I had the opportunity to work on was the glass pulverizer expansion. Using my operations experience, I found new and creative ways to expand collection, remove materials from the waste stream, and turn glass into sand. This aggregate is then used at select locations throughout Walt Disney World not only diverting materials but also eliminating the purchase of aggregates that are not sourced sustainably. I have enjoyed all of the experiences I have had at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, each served as both challenging and rewarding opportunities. I very much look forward to using my experience and skills for my next adventure. Now, I am the engineering & sustainability manager for resort operations at Travel + Leisure Co. learning a new company culture and driving sustainability efforts will be my mission the next upcoming months and so far it has been amazing!
