About Thomas Troast

I have over fourteen years of Systems Engineering experience, mostly in support of Federal Aviation Administration projects in the Air Traffic Control and Avionics domains. Additionally, I have three years of experience teaching Java, Python, and data structures courses to hundreds of high school students in the Fairfax County Public School system. In the past, I have supported such FAA programs such as TAMR (the program overseeing the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System, or STARS), Surveillance and Broadcast Services (SBS), Advanced Surface Detection Equipment model X (ASDE-X), Wide-area Multilateration (WAM), Precision Runway Monitoring - Alternative (PRM-A), Low Cost Ground Surveillance (LCGS), and the Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS).
