My six years of Experience as Director Public Health Administration of a District in the Ministry of Health abroad enabled me to demonstrate my capability to plan and execute need-based new Primary Health Centers and train staff to deliver Primary Health Care and preventive services. As an Associate Professor in Community Medicine, under the International Planned Parenthood Federation's Family Planning of India Project, I could establish Women's Local Volunteer Groups in each of the 52 villages and empower them with vocational skills to help them supplement family income and empowered them with knowledge and skill to make family planning choices and take care of their own and children's health. As Professor of Community Medicine, I could administer the State-level USAID's AIDS Prevention & Control (APAC) Project in the Private Health Providers sector to build capacity to contribute to AIDS Prevention by improving the quality of STD case management, Counselling using the Syndromic Approach at Primary Care level. As Founding Director of FAIMER Regional Institute at Coimbatore, I could build capacity of Faculty in Medical schools in the region through a two-year Fellowship program that I administered for 15+ years. As Secretary-General of WFME's South-East Asia's Regional Association (SEARAME) I could influence policy and make institutions aware of the WFME Basic Standards for Quality Inprovement in Health Professions Education for more that 15 years. Enriched with the many years of leadership in Public Health and Medical Education, I have been invited world-wide to conduct capacity-building Workshops and serve as an Expert Committee member of World Health Organisation, UNFPA and WFME to prepare Guidelines for training teachers in Public Health and Global Standards in Basic Medical Education. Summing up, I am sought after for providing transformative leadership to produce Competent & Caring Health Professionals through Visioning, Strategic participatory planning, building a community of practice for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of all Institutional staff - addressing the educational and health care needs of institutions aiming for excellence; equipping learners with 21st Century skills; program design and program evaluation for population groups and International Agencies involved in providing health care to defined population groups; fostering attainment & improvement in standards through establishment of systems for continuing quality improvement (CQI) within institutions in this highly networked interconnected world.
