About Thomas van Bart

MSc-graduate in Ecology at Wageningen University. Communicative, enthusiastic and creative team worker with a particular interest in ecology, agriculture and other land use, geography,(cultural) history and philosophy. In my spare time I enjoy rowing, backpacking, exploring the outdoors, camping, games, company and organizing all sorts of activities. Currently, I am working as a nature protection law enforcer of the Dutch Environment and Planning Act (Omgevingswet, specifiek het Besluit activiteiten leefomgeving, the implementation of EU Birds Directive and Habitats Directive) at the Regionale Uitvoeringsdienst Utrecht (Regional Excetutive Service for the province of Utrecht). Before (2016 - 2017), I worked as an effectuation expert in enforcement as well as dispensation of the Nature Protection Act (Flora- en faunawet & Wet natuurbescherming) at the national government. In 2015 I worked for the "Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit"(Dutch Food Safety Authority, part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs) as Supervisor Agriculture & Nature. From 2014 - 2016 I ran a small private company called "Pluk", together with a friend. In cooperation with Natuurmonumenten (biggest Dutch nature conservation NGO) we harvested fruits from nature and culture areas to produce i.e. jams and liquors which we sold in visitor centres, health food stores and organic stores.
