About Thomas Warren

I am a Partner and Co-Head of the firm’s Energy Projects team and I help clients manage risk and strategically negotiate complex energy transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, commodity transactions and project development. As a recognized leader on all aspects of renewable energy project development, construction and operation, including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, storage, geothermal, biomass, hydrogen and hydro assets and related transmission assets, I represent clients in business combinations in the energy industry, including acquisitions and dispositions of all types of electric generation and transmission assets, mergers, stock and other equity purchases, joint ventures and structured alternatives. I have extensive experience handling financeable power supply and offtake agreements of all types, including physical PPAs, VPPAs, other financial hedges and swaps, tolling agreements, and all- and partial-requirements purchases. My work also regularly includes engineering, procurement and construction agreements and other procurement for energy projects. I also handle other commercial agreements in connection with energy projects, such as energy management agreements, asset management transactions, and trading of physical and financial products under master agreements, including ISDA, EEI, NAESB and WSPP agreements. I also advise on electric vehicle (EV) and e-mobility transactions. A long-time champion of renewable energy and sustainability, I lead the firm’s multidisciplinary Sustainability Committee, which is committed to the promotion of environmentally friendly business practices.
